Bridging rigorous critical theory with over fifteen years of active global industry practice, Pica’s filmmaking career encompasses writing, directing, and producing independent feature films in active streaming distribution (The Box, Stranger), award-winning short films (including Ombre, winner of Best Short Film at the Rome Independent Film Festival), and high-volume commercial and music video direction. His narrative screenwriting practice has been recognised with two prestigious Development Grants from Rai Cinema, and his projects have been optioned by Academy Award-winning production teams. As an educator, Pica has delivered specialised narrative seminars at Sapienza University of Rome, served as a guest lecturer and instructional assistant at Griffith Film School, and spent over a decade providing technical and creative mentorship to emerging directors both in the classroom and on active, professional film sets. His progressive curriculum treats screenwriting, directing, and post-production as a single, distributed system. By structuring his courses to simulate the exact collaborative dynamics, budget constraints, and technical protocols of a live production environment, he empowers student filmmakers to cross the bridge from initial creative vision to technically precise, festival-ready completion.n text goes here
